jai guru whaaat??

while listening to FIONA APPLE's version of the famous england lads, Across the Universe, i came to realize that there was this one particular phrase i didnt quite understand at all.
so i used my most trusted lyrics webpage and found the ones belonging to this song.
i read the phrase: Jai Guru Deva Om.
WTF MATE??
google came in handy. so here it is, for whomever is interested:


"I give thanks to Guru Dev (heavenly teacher) om".


"Jai" means "O Hail" or "Victory to"
"Guru" means "Teacher"
"Deva" means "God/Lord/Demi-God
"OM" is the vibration of the universe, with which one who meditates desires to be in tune.
